IEN 103 Critical Reading

Emphasis on applying critical inquiry skills to varied and challenging reading materials. Includes analysis, synthesis, and evaluation through written discourse. 

IEN 104 College Writing

This course is designed to help students develop their writing, reading, and thinking skills. Emphasis is on the writing process. Through inventing and elaborating ideas, drafting, revising, and editing, students write in a variety of contexts for a variety of purposes. These purposes include description, narration, exposition, and argumentation. 

IEN 105 Communicative English

This course develops students' communicative competence through effective integrated use of language skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students will learn how to give discussions, presentations, speeches, and to participate in debates.

ILB 100 Study Skills

The development of study skills in higher education, in terms of time-managing, note-taking, reading-skills, report writing and library usage. 

ILB 108 Critical and Creative Thinking

A study of logical thinking, process of reasoning, the structure of deductive and inductive arguments, syllogism, enthymeme, basic symbolic logic, induction by enumeration, and Mill's methods. This course also includes fallacy and critical analysis of arguments found in daily life. Theories of creative thinking are included. The development techniques, factors and activities related to creative thinking are focused. 

ILB 113 Art Appreciation

A study designed to acquaint students with art philosophies, their elements, principles and values.

ISC 201 Man and Environment

A study of the current and future impact of scientific and technological growth on the environment, society, and economy investigation of the problems of energy resources, population, and environmental changes the balance of ecosystem and environment protection that can lead towards a sustainable development.

IST 203  Statistics for Social Science

A study of the definition, scope and importance of statistics for social sciences research, data collection, frequency distribution and analysis, the measures of central tendency, the measures of dispersion, with the emphasis on the theories of sampling.

An introduction to the philosophy of camping and outdoor activities. Training for camp leadership with emphasis on camping skills, program planning, and development of outdoor living skills.
